4 Life Concepts That Keep Me Going

I very much procrastinated writing this week's newsletter, so it's a short one—enjoy!

If you’re struggling to get out of bed, remember, someone is waiting for you.

We all have days when we just can’t seem to get out of bed; it’s natural. But when life gets really tough, when getting up doesn't even feel worth it anymore, what do we do?

No matter how lonely or miserable you are, someone out there is waiting for your presence. Someone is waiting to see you. Whether it’s a coworker, friend, family member, or colleague, it doesn't matter. They miss you. They need you. Get up and go see them.

You matter.

We are just ants living on a floating rock in infinite nothingness.

Yes, we live on a floating rock in—as far as we know—an infinite universe. And guess what, that universe is expanding.

Once you zoom out and realize how tiny you are, your problems seem much less significant.

So, the test you’re scared to fail, that speech you worried about, or that thought that’s nagging at you, I promise, is not worth the stress.

Nothing is as serious as it seems. Focus on what you can control.

Whenever you have a chance to be memorable, take it.

In a world full of sameness, people admire authenticity.

Say “hi” to everyone you walk by. Remember their name and say it with conviction. Be honest when no one else will. Speak up when everyone else is scared. Dress up when everyone else dresses down.

Doors open when you stand out.

Don’t let others judge someone else's character for you.

“Did you hear what Ashley said? She’s an idiot. I can’t stand her.”

I’m sure you’ve been in a conversation that sounded something like this. Gossip is no way to judge someone. Most of the time, it’s not even accurate. You should judge people objectively, with empathy, and with firsthand knowledge or experience.

Never let gossip or rumors determine what you think about others.

PS - I found this quite funny!

Until next week,

—Wyatt

The SoulFuel Journal is where I share bite-sized wisdom, questionable humor, and ideas that actually help you grow. If you want inspiration with and without cringe, you’re in the right spot.

The SoulFuel Journal By: Wyatt Gilbert Quotes that changed the way I think ↓ “Life owes us nothing, yet it provides us with everything.” Every day you wake up is a gift, so treat it as such. Be grateful that you can get out of bed. Be grateful you have a job. Even be grateful for the problems you have, because many others don’t have such luxuries. We can always want more in life. Whether it’s money, cars, houses, or happiness, it’s never-ending. But how we live with what we have now means...

The SoulFuel Journal By: Wyatt Gilbert I Jumped Out Of A Freaking Plane! ↓ The roaring of the engines blistered my ears as I approached the plane. The wind from the propellers glanced off my face like rocks hitting a windshield. "Holy crap, this is actually happening," I mumbled under my breath. My instructor, Jason, directed me to get on the plane. I stepped onto essentially one of those makeshift step stools and lifted myself into the cabin of the aircraft. One of the workers gave me a...

The SoulFuel Journal By: Wyatt Gilbert My guide to ultimate intelligence. ↓ Self-awareness doesn't get nearly enough credit. We spend so much time trying to improve our circumstances—our grades, our careers, our relationships—without ever stopping to improve our understanding of ourselves. One of the greatest pieces of advice I’ve ever received is this: once you understand yourself, everything else in the world makes sense. This area is drastically underexplored, so today we're going to dive...
