Quotes that changed the way I think

“Life owes us nothing, yet it provides us with everything.”

Every day you wake up is a gift, so treat it as such. Be grateful that you can get out of bed. Be grateful you have a job. Even be grateful for the problems you have, because many others don’t have such luxuries.

We can always want more in life. Whether it’s money, cars, houses, or happiness, it’s never-ending. But how we live with what we have now means more than anything.

To want less is to be at peace. The less wants you have, the happier you'll be.

“The life you have now is probably what you once wished for.” — Jay Shetty

Maybe not all of your dreams have come to fruition just yet, but undoubtedly some have.

Be grateful for what you have and the progress you’ve made.

“You cannot think in black and white.” — Dan Koe

We often tie our beliefs to our identities, but that is the downfall of intelligence. Although it’s incredibly difficult, we must detach from our predetermined reality. And yes, our perceptions of the world are taught to us; thus, they are not our own thinking. We all come from different upbringings. We all grew up in different environments. This is what determines our beliefs.

In order to truly make your beliefs your own, you must challenge them. Ask yourself: How did I get this belief? Where does it stem from? Why do I believe this?

Ideas, beliefs, values, and opinions all require nuance. There simply isn’t a right and wrong. The sooner you realize that, the more intelligent you’ll become.

Your beliefs should be firm but loose. If they’re not loose, they can’t change. If your beliefs don’t change, you don’t grow.

“You always own the option of having no opinion.” — Marcus Aurelius

Many of us are guilty of letting others’ opinions enrage us. I find that quite silly. Remember, someone else’s opinion should hold no power over you. You can simply choose not to engage in such pointless conflict. In fact, you’re allowed to have no opinion at all. I believe there’s much peace in neutrality.

Until next week,

The SoulFuel Journal By: Wyatt Gilbert I Jumped Out Of A Freaking Plane! ↓ The roaring of the engines blistered my ears as I approached the plane. The wind from the propellers glanced off my face like rocks hitting a windshield. "Holy crap, this is actually happening," I mumbled under my breath. My instructor, Jason, directed me to get on the plane. I stepped onto essentially one of those makeshift step stools and lifted myself into the cabin of the aircraft. One of the workers gave me a...

The SoulFuel Journal By: Wyatt Gilbert 4 Life Concepts That Keep Me Going ↓ I very much procrastinated writing this week's newsletter, so it's a short one—enjoy! If you’re struggling to get out of bed, remember, someone is waiting for you. We all have days when we just can’t seem to get out of bed; it’s natural. But when life gets really tough, when getting up doesn't even feel worth it anymore, what do we do? No matter how lonely or miserable you are, someone out there is waiting for your...

The SoulFuel Journal By: Wyatt Gilbert My guide to ultimate intelligence. ↓ Self-awareness doesn't get nearly enough credit. We spend so much time trying to improve our circumstances—our grades, our careers, our relationships—without ever stopping to improve our understanding of ourselves. One of the greatest pieces of advice I’ve ever received is this: once you understand yourself, everything else in the world makes sense. This area is drastically underexplored, so today we're going to dive...
